(What Did I Do to Be So) Black and Blue
“(What Did I Do to Be So) Black and Blue” arranged by Victor López is a beautiful ballad, and very playable by a young jazz group. The tempo is around 82 BPM with a straight-eighth ballad feel, smooth and lyrical melodic lines, modest brass range, no individual solos, and all the usual optional parts plus flute, clarinet, and vibes. Ain’t Misbehavin’
Here’s a nice easy-goin’ swing chart on a great jazz classic composed by Fats Waller. Arranger Ralph Ford, one of our specialists in writing for young bands, does it once again. Solos are for piano and tenor sax (both written out), the brass ranges are modest, and this arrangement is loaded with natural swing licks. A super chart!SKU: ALJEM01061 -

Honeysuckle Rose
A great jazz standard at a medium tempo. It is full of great jazz licks, sax solis, a modulation from E-flat to F, a shout chorus, and interesting harmonies and rhythmic patterns. Trumpet 2 and piano solos are written out and trumpet 1 range is to written G on top of the staff.SKU: AL36030 -

Honeysuckle Rose
A swingin’ jazz classic played around 156 BPM. Written-out suggested solos are provided for alto 1 and trumpet 2 with cues for piano and trumpet 1. The sax section soli, drum fills, a few familiar quotes along with well-notated rhythm parts all come together creating a fine chart that will make your band shine.SKU: AL47507
