Black Horse Troop
Sousa, who was a horseman himself, completed this wonderful work late in 1925. The march exemplifies the regimental rhythms heard with horse and rider and the Fennell arrangement preserves Sousa’s original intent, specifically explaining articulations and musical nuances. The Black Horse Troop has been re-engraved with a full score for the first time. (3:31)SKU: ALBDM01057 -

New Mexico March
One of Sousa’s more obscure marches, it was dedicated to the governor and the people of New Mexico. You’ll hear the characteristic musical sounds of Latin and American Indian populations indigenous to New Mexico at the time. Typical of the march king, you’ll be impressed with the interesting musical turns. (2:55)SKU: ALBDM03001 -

Nobles of the Mystic Shrine (March)
Now with a full score provided, here’s the original Fennell arrangement of this revered John Philip Sousa march. Although there was always a harp included in the photographs of the Sousa Band, this is the only march in his repertoire that includes a part for the harpist. The part is included and can be played on a synthesizer. This one’s a real barn burner. (3:20)SKU: ALBDM04013 -
