The rumba style evolved from Cuban dance music. This easy Latin chart has a unison intro, then the melody varies from minor to major to offer a very interesting contrast. The solo section is for all winds for flexibility and the 1st trumpet range is only to written D, fourth line. This chart is effective, easy to assemble and playable with reduced instrumentation. Sambeando is a level 2 Young Jazz Ensemble series piece designed for developing jazz groups. Full instrumentation includes 5 saxophones, 8 brass, and 4 rhythm parts. The piece is playable with reduced instrumentation with 4 saxophones, 3 trumpets, 2 trombones and 3 rhythm parts. Optional parts include flute, tuba, horn in F and baritone T.C./tenor sax. Solos are written out with chord changes, the rhythm section parts suggest chord voicings and rhythms and guitar chord frames are included to assist young guitarists.
